Explosion at AmeriGas Facility

An explosion occurred in Conroe at a propane facility owned by AmeriGas, one of the largest gas companies in the country, at around 12 p.m. on November 6, 2012. The explosion sent a number of people to area hospitals, some of whom had to be taken by helicopter.

Unfortunate situations such as this should serve as reminders to those who work with hazardous materials that they have legal rights which can be exercised if they are injured at work. Employers, especially large companies, may try to get injured employees to sign documents releasing the employer from liability right after an injury occurs when victims may still be confused and vulnerable. It is important for an injured worker to consult with an attorney of his or her choosing before signing anything their employer presents to him or her about the accident or injuries. An experienced personal injury attorney will be able to help an injured employee navigate the process of dealing with their employer as well as protecting the employee’s right to recover for any injuries.
